Best Time to Visit
At Creative Sea Charters, we plan voyages throughout the year which is one of the benefits of sailing in the Caribbean. However, there are a couple of factors to consider when booking your trip.
Most sailors consider the best season to be November through April as this is the dry season and offers amazing sailing conditions. Guests who enjoy participating in lively celebrations have many cultural events and festivals to look forward to during this time. As this is the busy season you can expect to find more crowds and higher prices.
Although still an excellent time to visit, May through October is considered the wet season and it is important to note that June through October is hurricane season. You may have more weather concerns during this time, but if you’re willing to embrace the wetter conditions you’ll also find less crowded anchorages, warmer water temperatures, and less expensive rates. Rest assured, Creative Sea Charters monitors conditions to ensure you have the most comfortable, safe, and enjoyable experience during your stay with us.
Travel Details
Currency
The accepted currency depends on the destination.
Travel Insurance
We recommend you purchase travel insurance if you need to cancel due to any unforeseen reason as our trips are non-refundable.
Passports
You will be required to show your passport at most island destinations.
Outlets, Chargers & Wifi
Most yachts in the Caribbean have 110v outlets but you may need an adapter to charge your devices depending on the specific vessel. Most marinas and ports will have wifi but we encourage you to use your phone only to capture pictures and save scrolling through social media for after the trip. Sailing is a wonderful way to disconnect from technology and reconnect with nature and we hope you take advantage of this opportunity.
Reef-Safe Sunscreen
While it’s important to lather up and protect your skin from the sun, it’s also critical that we do our part to protect our oceans and use reef-safe sunscreen. It can be challenging to find the perfect mineral sunscreen that is both safe for you and the reef, so we use the app Yuka to search different products and see how they rate based on their ingredients. Here’s a list of our favorite mineral sunscreens that have earned the highest rating on Yuka.
Blue Lizard: Sensitive Mineral Sunscreen Stick SPF 50
Raw Ocean: Face & Body Lotion Mineral Sunscreen SPF 30
Native: Coconut & Pineapple Mineral Sunscreen SPF 30
